Art and History Collide in Nautical Nice
Nestled against the beautiful blue Cote d’Azur, Nice offers many treasures. From the bustling seaside promenade to Old Town and its numerous shops and up to the staggering views from Castle Hill, there’s something for everyone. If you love architecture, tour the lovely Sainte-Réparate cathedral. If people watching intrigues you, the Place Rossetti and Place Garibaldi are great areas to start.
Nice even has a lavish Mediterranean palace with an art museum inside! The Musée d'Art et d'Histoire at the Palais Massena is a treat to look at, but the paintings housed in it are truly exquisite. Napoleonic through 20th Century art and artifacts are on view in this amazing collection. Of course, there’s the Matisse Museum as well.
Nice offers a number of amazing churches, too, including the Basilique Notre-Dame de Nice, Cathédrale Sainte-Reparate, and Monastére de Cimiez.
